John is a valued advisor to and team member of Mission Six Zero. He brings a depth of experience in strategy and analysis that is vitally important to sound application of critical principles and organizational processes.

John Villanueva is Deputy Chief at Mission Six Zero and Global Practice Leader for Crisis Management and Continuity of Operations Team at Mission Six Zero. John is a C-suite management consultant and board advisor. He lectures on national security, crisis management, continuity of operations, law, and civil society at George Mason University.

Previously, John was the former chief revenue and strategy officer at ArmorText, where he chaired the ArmorText board of advisors. ArmorText Secure Teams is a proprietary business communication platform built to serve the needs of national security, defense, and critical infrastructure communities.

Before joining ArmorText, John served as senior defense policy and technology advisor to the Department of Defense; senior defense strategist for crisis management and continuity of government for the Office of the Secretary of Defense; and the chief executive for a foreign affairs and national security consultancy that provided advice and consultation to the United States intelligence community and its NATO allies.

A highly decorated U.S. Army combat veteran, John, earned 36 awards and citations over the course of a 21-year career. While in uniform, he served with distinction in several senior leadership and advisory roles in the national security, international arms control, nuclear nonproliferation, military intelligence, joint psychological operations, and special forces communities.

Education

John earned an MSc in Strategic Intelligence Studies and Post Graduate Intelligence Diploma in Near and Middle East Studies from the National Intelligence University; MSc in Education/Cognitive Science from Old Dominion University; and a BASc in Liberal Arts from the University of New York, Excelsior College.
